Foods like bananas, avocados, leafy greens, nuts, and dairy products are naturally rich in key electrolytes. During exercise, electrolyte drinks, tablets, or powders provide a fast, convenient way to restore what you’ve lost without loading up on excess sugar.

Timing matters too. Hydrating with electrolytes before, during, and after exercise gives your body the resources it needs at every stage, not just when you’re already feeling depleted.
